Stephanie Tippit was a copanelist in a Commercial Lines Property workshop, “What Happens When Texas Freezes? A Case Study,” exploring whether the big freeze of 2021 could happen again, at the PLRB Large Loss Conference on October 13-14th. Her co-panelists were Chris Anastasiou, Executive Loss Accountant at McLarens; Jake T. Mello, SVP/Regional Manager, J.S. Held LLC; and Marco deLeon, VP & Sr. EGA, at McLarens.

They discussed time element issues of determining periods of blackouts and restoration, severe shortage of materials which delay claim closing and repairs, coverage concerns and properly applying the reasonable standard of care to freeze claims, as well as risk transfer and subrogation issues.

The Property & Liability Resource Bureau (PLRB) hosted this 3-day conference in Phoenix to provide workshops on large loss scenarios to the industry’s premier large loss handlers, service providers, and experts from across the nation.
