Costantino Suriano discussed “Hurricane Ian Claims Considerations” on  the Loss Executives Association (LEA)’s webinar. Joined by CEO Jonathon Held and building code expert Mike Rimoldi from J.S. Held, he explored the issues surrounding how inflation, the potential for an impending recession, and the timing of damage amidst economic uncertainty and wind damage and flooding will add complexity to the claims from Hurricane Ian.

The webinar also examined lessons learned from litigation arising from previous Florida hurricanes. Topics included:

  • Cost and pricing issues, including supply chain, manpower, and inflation impacts on pricing and period of restoration
  • How existing code compliance and mandatory demolition orders can influence claims
  • The current Florida construction market, historical waves of litigation, and other considerations for claims in Florida

LEA is dedicated to provide a co-learning space on property loss-related issues.
