OBJECTIVE
An overview of claims handling in the insurance industry showing how claims are the “face” of the insurer with a policyholder when a calamity occurs. For those new to claims, this overviews how senior claims insurers and professionals expect the claims handlers to provide key information to the company and as needed to policyholders within the limitations of the insurance policy when a loss/accident/catastrophe happens.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
A distinguished panel of claims persons will explain the roles of different claims professionals and how losses such as fires, hurricanes, floods, man made or natural disasters, liability matters are dealt with by in-house claims persons, independent adjusters, underwriters, independent experts (such as engineers, accountants, lawyers) and reinsurers. St. John’s University’s Faculty Chair will address how they see the claims environment.
WHERE: John’s University, 101 Astor Place, New York, NY 10003
