MCWG’s Florham Park office provides legal services to clients throughout the state of New Jersey. Our New Jersey attorneys have significant experience handling first-party and third-party insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes, in addition to commercial contract disputes, and products liability, employer liability, premises liability, and general tort claims. They also provide risk management services to clients with a view toward avoiding litigation or minimizing its cost.
Two of our New Jersey resident partners, William Wilson and Frank DeAngelis, are co-authors of a book entitled New Jersey Insurance Coverage Litigation – 2015: A Practitioner’s Guide, which is published by the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, a division of the New Jersey State Bar Association, and frequently speak on New Jersey related litigation issues. Mr. Wilson also is the author of NJInsuranceBlog.com.
MCWG’s Fort Lauderdale office provides legal services to clients throughout the state of Florida. Our Florida attorneys have extensive experience litigating first-party and third-party insurance coverage matters in the Florida state and federal courts. This work involves prosecution of declaratory judgment actions, as well as defense of our insurance clients against claims implicating all-risk commercial property policies, DIC policies, builder’s risk policies, and CGL policies. The causes of loss and underlying claims giving rise to our Florida litigation work are varied, involving hurricanes/windstorms, fire/arson, water releases and intrusion, theft and vandalism, sinkholes, construction defects, catastrophic building collapses, and negligent security.
MCWG’s Florida attorneys also serve our insurance clients in an advisory capacity, analyzing coverage questions raised by first-party and third-party claims and counseling clients on how to protect themselves from improper and excessive claims. Our Florida attorneys also advise clients regarding bad faith avoidance strategies, respond to Civil Remedy Notices of Insurer Violations (CRNs) filed by insureds with the Florida Department of Financial Services, and represent insurers in appraisal and mediation proceedings.
MCWG’s California office is staffed by senior attorneys with 15 to 30 years of experience in insurance coverage, insurance bad faith litigation, commercial litigation, and employment law. They have extensive experience with property claims, time element coverages, builder’s risk claims, third party liability coverage issues, cyber claims, boiler and machinery claims, energy claims, mining claims, employment claims, construction defect coverage claims, and compliance with California Department of Insurance regulations.
Our lawyers have litigated cases in almost every state west of the Mississippi River. They are experienced trial and appellate counsel. They have also served as regional and national troubleshooters in problem jurisdictions for major carriers.
MCWG’s Texas lawyers represent both domestic and international insurers and insurance markets in first- and third-party coverage disputes across the United States. They also consult and advise these insurers and insurance markets regarding coverage and the claims-handling process, primarily in the energy, builder’s risk, and commercial property sectors. Our Texas lawyers have experience with litigation, arbitration, mediation, and settlement negotiations on behalf of insurers involving property damage and time element claims, construction claims, liability claims, and bad faith/statutory claims-handling violations.
