Three MCWG Attorneys Given the Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing

MCWG partners Michael R. Koblenz and Kenneth M. Labbate, and associate Carrie C. Turner, were among the winners of the 2014 Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing. Their article, “The LIBOR Rigging Scandal: Legal and Insurance Ramifications,” was published in the Pepperdine School of Law’s Journal of Business, Entrepreneurship and the Law and, in abridged form, in the Summer 2013 issue of this firm’s Newsletter .

The Burton Awards program, run in association with the Library of Congress, recognizes and rewards outstanding legal writing and legal publications. MCWG won the Burton Award for Best Law Firm Newsletter in the U.S. in 2010.

MCWG Attorney Pamela Minetto Honored as Pro Bono Attorney of the Month

Pamela J. Minetto was named ReLeSe’s June 2011 pro bono attorney of the month. She was recognized for her volunteer legal services, which include restoring a client’s driving privileges after a 16-year suspension that resulted from a default judgment in 1993. ReLeSe provides free legal services to economically disadvantaged adults, children, and families in New Jersey through pro bono representation.

In an article appearing in the May 2009 issue of Best’s Review, Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass is noted as the only New York headquartered law firm with an insurance defense practice that has been recommended for at least 75 years by its clients. 69 US headquartered law firms were recognized in the review.

 

The Loss Executives Association Appoints Costantino P. Suriano as a Consultant to its Board of Directors

The Loss Executives Association (LEA) has appointed Costantino P. Suriano, a partner at MCWG, as a consultant to its board of directors. Founded over 75 years ago, the LEA provides a forum for discussion, study and consideration of common loss adjustment problems to explore options and alternatives. Mr. Suriano is an active member of the LEA and in 2008 was awarded the Stephen P. Cronin, Jr. Memorial Award, presented each year at the LEA’s Annual Meeting to an individual who donates their time, skill, and exceptional service to the property claim profession.
