Lawrence S. Greengrass has over thirty-two years of experience handling insurance and reinsurance litigation and arbitrations.

Mr. Greengrass' practice has encompassed a wide range of subjects involving the property/casualty as well as life/accident and health aspects of the insurance and reinsurance industry. His current areas of practice include addressing complex issues involving first party property and time elements coverages, financial reinsurance, reinsurance spirals, life, accident and health insurance and reinsurance, asbestos-related claims, insolvency, and toxic torts. He has handled over 250 reinsurance arbitrations, and has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

Mr. Greengrass is admitted to practice in the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Circuits. He has also been actively involved in the preparation of model insurance and reinsurance contract wordings, and has lectured extensively on the subject. He is a certified continuing education instructor on reinsurance contract wording at The St. John's School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science. Mr. Greengrass is listed in Best Lawyers in America and his articles have appeared in Best's Review, Insurance Advocate, Global Reinsurance, The United States Reinsurance Reports, ReActions, and International Insurance Monitor.

Mr. Greengrass is co-author with Eugene Wollan of the chapter on Arbitration of Reinsurance Cases contained in Prosecuting and Defending Insurance Claims (John Wiley & Sons, 1989). He has lectured on punitive damages and reinsurance contract wordings at Robert W. Strain Seminars. Mr. Greengrass has also lectured at Executive Enterprises, Inc. seminars on insolvency, letters of credit, and reinsurance arbitrations, and at Mealey's, ARIAS US, Brokers Reinsurance Markets Association, Reinsurance Association of America and the Eastern Claims Conference on numerous reinsurance issues.

Mr. Greengrass is a graduate of The City College of New York and New York University School of Law. He is also a former officer of Emerald Coast Reinsurance Co. Ltd.
