Mezzacappa, John

John Mezzacappa has more than twenty-nine years of experience in corporate, commercial, tort, multi-district, and insurance litigation. He also has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration involving complex coverage and underwriting questions arising under property and casualty policies, all forms of fidelity and surety bonds, and reinsurance treaties and facultative agreements. He has litigated and arbitrated numerous disputes between property and boiler and machinery insurers entailing complex engineering details. Mr. Mezzacappa has drafted policy and treaty provisions on behalf of underwriters as well as construction and other commercial contracts. His litigation experience includes matters pending in numerous states of the United States, as well as foreign jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mezzacappa was an underwriter at American International Group. His articles have appeared in Best's Review and Insurance Advocate. His article "Courts Differ on Defect Exclusion" was published in the November, 2001 Real Estate and Title Insurance Funds Section of the New York Law Journal. Mr. Mezzacappa is admitted to practice in New York and before the First Circuit and Second Circuit, and before the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and is a member of the New York County Lawyers' Association.

Mr. Mezzacappa is a graduate of Fordham University and St. John's University School of Law.
