Bakert, Vanessa M.

Vanessa M. Bakert is an associate with Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass.
Ms. Bakert joined the firm in 2006. She received her B.A. from Johns Hopkins and her J.D. from New York Law School, where she was the Managing Editor of the Journal of International Comparative Law and a Teaching Fellow. For the past eight years, at Mound Cotton and her prior firm, Melito & Adolfsen, P.C., Ms. Bakert's practice has concentrated on property and casualty insurance coverage disputes involving environmental, toxic tort, construction, and other complex claims.
At Mound Cotton, Ms. Bakert's practice includes the litigation of both complex third party claims and managing a team that handles the majority of third party coverage declaratory action matters arising out of construction and other workplace accidents for a rapidly growing NY insurance company. In addition, increasingly, Ms. Bakert has been working on compliance issues arising out of both federal and state court rules regarding electronically stored information. She spends a significant amount of time assisting clients with their obligations regarding preservation and production of electronically stored information.
Ms. Bakert served as a summer intern with the Consumer Affairs Prosecution Section of the New Jersey Attorney General's Office. Ms. Bakert is admitted to the New Jersey and New York bars and is a member of the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyers' Association.
