Atkinson, Philip H.

Philip H. Atkinson is an associate with Mound Cotton Wollan & Greengrass.
Mr. Atkinson joined the firm in 2007. He graduated from St Peter's College, Oxford University in England. He is a qualified English Solicitor and New York Attorney.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Atkinson worked at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain and before that Fishburn Boxer in London. He has considerable experience in the area of reinsurance and insurance coverage. As well as US and UK arbitrations, he has handled a number of complex litigation cases (several involving multi-jurisdictional disputes) including The ERAS EIL Litigation, aka International Insurance Co v Certain Underwriters at Lloyds' London. He has many years experience handling construction and engineering matters in the UK for architects, contractors and engineers as well as end clients on projects. In the UK, a particular focus of his work has been the environmental sector and enterprise risk management. In addition to working with industry to develop meaningful ERM and CSR environmental reporting tools, he acted in Urban Regeneration Agency v Mott MacDonald in what was the largest claim in the UK against environmental consultants, the trial lasting 77 days. Philip has also represented parties in the UK in other environmental consulting claims and in several pollution cases, as well as OFT investigations in competition cases.
